Wellbeing & Health In-Reach Nurse (WHIN)
Our school has the services of Sally Loy as our school Wellbeing & Health In-Reach Nurse Coordinator (WHIN). Sally is available at our school each Thursday and she also works at Maclean High School and Maclean Public School for the remaining days each week.
The Wellbeing and Health In-Reach Nurse Coordinator (WHIN) program is a partnership between NSW Health and NSW Department of Education. WHINs are co-located within schools and work closely with the school’s wellbeing and learning and support teams. The underlying assumption is that improved access to health care will improve student health and wellbeing, which will support improved educational outcomes and engagement. Our school has already used Sally very regularly to support our families liaising with paediatricians, GPs and with support for accessing specific health services. Sally may be contacted at our school if you require any assistance.
